Learning by doing
You do not learn production by only watching. MPL puts you in the workflow from the first minute.
Music Producer Lab exists because watching endless tutorials is not the same as building real skills. We are designing a platform where you place notes, shape sounds, test ideas, and finish something usable while you learn.
This walkthrough explains why Music Producer Lab exists, how the platform is structured, and what makes the learning flow different from passive tutorial culture.
Music Producer Lab exists to democratize music production education. We believe that the traditional approach to learning music production, mostly watching endless hours of video tutorials, is not working for most people.
That is why we built a different approach: interactive labs where you learn by doing. Instead of watching someone else produce, you build the track yourself, step by step, with guidance that explains not just what to do, but why each decision matters.
The goal is to help you move from not knowing where to start to confidently finishing release-ready ideas. We focus on transferable skills that work in any DAW, so you are never locked into a single workflow.
You do not learn production by only watching. MPL puts you in the workflow from the first minute.
We teach fundamentals, musical decisions, and repeatable workflows that transfer across software.
Music education should not be trapped behind expensive courses. The core path stays open and practical.
Start simple, build complexity, and keep momentum. Each section should make the next step easier.
Every lab at Music Producer Lab follows a simple philosophy: you do the work. We do not show you a finished product and expect you to recreate it blindly. We guide you through the process, one decision at a time.
Each lab is designed to teach a specific skill. We keep them short and focused so you can fit learning into your day without burning out. Because every lab ends with you having created something, you get immediate results instead of abstract theory.
We also care about the why behind every technique. It is not enough to know that a move works. You should understand why it works, so you can apply the same thinking in your own productions.
Founder · Ableton Certified Trainer · Sound Engineer
Marcello has been making music since he was 16, earned his Audio Engineering degree at SAE in 2005, and became an Ableton Certified Trainer in 2009 — one of the first in Italy. Since moving to London in 2013 he has taught at ICMP, Abbey Road Institute, Garnish, Point Blank, and The BRIT School, reaching thousands of students across beginner to professional level.
He is also the author of Ableton Live: Trucchi e Segreti, a hands-on guide to creative sound design and unconventional production workflows inside Ableton Live — available through major Italian booksellers and still in use as course material.
Music Producer Lab is the platform he always wanted as a student: interactive, DAW-agnostic, built around doing rather than watching.
If the mission makes sense to you, the best next step is to use the product. Open the labs, explore the tools, or get in touch if you want to talk to us directly.
